Dear Parents, Guardians and Teachers,

 

The Franciscan Community Center is continuing its multi-faceted youth services program by offering eighth grade students the opportunity to participate in the Franciscan Tutorial Program.

 

The next semester of the tutorial program will begin on Monday, October 5, 2009 and Tuesday, October 6, 2009.  All eighth grade students from our neighborhood and community are welcome to participate. 

 

Students in grade 8 who choose to participate have the option of attending the program for either two or four days per week.  This semester, we are offering Music and Theater class on Tuesday and Thursday as well as Supervised Homework, which meets Monday through Thursday.

 

In addition, students may register to take Grade 8 Mathematics Test Preparation, meeting on Monday and Wednesday and Grade 8 Reading/Language Arts Test Preparation, which meets on Tuesday and Thursday.

This series of classes runs from October 6^th until Thursday, December 17^th.  Following the administration of the TACHS on November 13^th, the classes will provide curriculum based  academic assistance to eighth grade students.

 

You will find an application form attached.  Please review it and register your child for the class(es) that will be of the most benefit to him or her.  If you choose to register your child for either of the test preparation classes, you MUST indicate if he or she will attend for a half semester or a full semester. 

 

All applications are due on Friday, October 2^nd..  Please take advantage of this opportunity for free academic enrichment for your child.
