Counseling

The Counseling Center was established in 1994 in direct response to the staff's evaluation of obstacles to learning and wellness among our clients. Through individual, group, and family counseling, we have sought to deal directly with those problems that affect the well-being of our youth, adults, and families. Workshops are offered to facilitate enhanced decision-making, peer interaction, and conflict resolution.

Accompanying these groups are ongoing parenting workshops that address numerous issues such as: parent involvement in the student's academic life, structuring the home environment for study and learning, and communicating with teens. The office is staffed by 2 certified social workers (CSW). Also, we are an official internship placement site for the Columbia University School of Social Work and have 2 second-year graduate students as counseling interns each year.
